Mary Jane Falls

On Saturday we went up to the Spring Mtns and hiked Mary Jane Falls. The hike is only about 1.5 miles, but the steep switchbacks make it a little overwhelming. Once we reached the top we were surprised to see that the waterfalls, indeed, still had water. The water was super fresh and cool, and kept the area moist. We couldn't figure out how to climb up the obvious way, so we went around and did a little rock scrambling on the far side of the shelf. Eventually we made it up with the other cool people and relaxed for a while. It was fun watching everyone try to climb up the slippery rocks.

Great hike, highly recommended. It takes about 10-15 mins to get down and maybe 45 mins to hike up. And how many other hikes offer waterfalls in late summer? This here's a keeper.

Hi there from the "important person" who is really no one in particular. What a surprise to see you have a blog...I'll be spreading the word. If you add a gadget for Followers it makes it easier for me to stalk you.

That is a good hike, but if you go about a mile(?) just up the mountain from MJ Falls is another spring and furhter up from this are small airplane parts from a military plane crash from the 40's.
(welcome to the blogging world)

PS What site did you use for the background? (not that I'd copy it, but maybe I could find another interesting one? cokecop@aol.com)
